October 14th is Nyerere Day. Julius Nyerere was known as the "Father of the Nation". He is was Tanzanian's first president and influential in the process of Independence for Tanzania. He was an activist and anti-Colonial. Here is one of his quotes:
"In Tanganyika we believe that only evil, Godless men would make the color of a man's skin the criteria for granting him civil rights."
