Child Marriage in Maasai Land

Our team recently conducted training sessions with Maasai girls at Faces for Hope Centre, focusing on child rights, protection from abuse, and reporting child marriage and FGM.
The girls shared deeply personal experiences of feeling unsafe and pressured into early marriage.
Visits to primary schools in Monduli District (Maasai land) reinforced the importance of education as a protective factor against early marriage.
Early marriage remains a pressing issue globally, with 39,000 girls forced into marriage each year.
We are dedicated to empowering girls with legal knowledge and supporting their continued education to break the cycle of early marriage.
Exciting Launch Of School Clubs In Monduli District

We are thrilled to announce the launch of two new clubs within our Monduli District School Program: Girls for Justice and HeForShe Champions.
These clubs will provide 12 weeks of training to girls and boys, teaching them about their rights, how to identify and report abuse, and how to seek justice. Our goal is to foster gender equality and inclusion among the next generation and provide pathways to justice for those who have experienced abuse.
Girls for Justice will empower girls inside and outside school, while HeForShe Champions will equip boys to protect themselves and advocate for their peers.
We are excited to see the positive impact these clubs will have on the community!
Expanding Outreach To Women And Widows In Monduli And Karatu

We're thrilled to announce our impactful partnership with the Global Fund for Widows. In September, we joined forces to empower over 400 women and widows in Monduli and Karatu districts, located in Tanzania's Maasai Land.
Through workshops, we provided these women with critical knowledge about their legal rights and access to justice. Many shared their stories of discrimination and harmful customs faced after losing their husbands.
While some have received financial support and land ownership through the Global Fund for Widows, many lack proper legal documentation. Our training provided guidance on navigating the land registration process to secure their rightful property.
Empowerment Through Knowledge: One woman expressed her gratitude, saying, "Today's training has opened our minds, and we will take what we learned back home."
Together, we are making a difference!
Back In Meru: Strengthening Our Partnership

Since 2018, our collaboration with Hand in Hand East Africa has enabled us to reach communities beyond our initial scope.
This month, we concluded a two-year project in Meru District, providing legal rights and gender equality training to over 800 community members.
The training covered crucial topics such as land rights, probate, matrimonial disputes, and child abandonment.
Many women in Meru lack legal protection due to unregistered marriages. Our training aimed to raise awareness about marriage registration and matrimonial rights.
Your continued support is essential to help us sustain this vital work and empower more communities.
Measuring Our Impact

For the past decade, we've been at the forefront of raising awareness about women and children's rights and providing access to justice.
With the generous support of the Segal Family Foundation, we've taken a significant step forward by training our team in data collection and impact measurement.
This September, we developed a valuable tool we're excited to digitise and implement. This tool will enable us to effectively monitor and evaluate our programs, ensuring we're making a maximum positive impact.
A big thank you to our dedicated team for their hard work and commitment to our mission. Your efforts are making a difference!
