Run Away? or Divorce?

We had a hot group discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of running away when your marriage has completely failed as compared to divorce .... " my family, community and church will never understand me if I divorce my husband, I would rather run away and never come back " One woman commented....

At a recent training in Masailand with over 60 women, we showed a video showing a woman who told how she'd been beaten so badly by her husband that she decided to run away.

We asked the women to get into groups to discuss what the legal advantages of divorce might be over "running away".
